Jessica Berlin is a German and American geopolitical expert and a commentator at Deutsche Welle News. Her career has spanned 14+ years working with government agencies, civil society, and the private sector in Africa, Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and North America. She specializes in security and economic development, sustainable business and technology, democratic and autocratic transitions, and cultural-historical drivers of sociopolitical change.
Berlin is the founder of the strategy consultancy CoStruct; Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors at fintech company Bridge Technologies; an Advisory Board member at the think tank Europa Nova, and a Global Governance Fellow of the Robert Bosch Foundation. Her TEDx talk on the transatlantic democratic crisis has been described as "one of the most powerful and inspiring TED talks." She holds an M.Sc. in Political Economy of Emerging Markets from King's College London, a B.A. in International Relations from Tufts University, and speaks five languages.
