Jessica Berlin is a German and American geopolitical expert and a commentator at Deutsche Welle News. Her career has spanned 13+ years across four continents working with the German and US governments, civil society, and the private sector. She specializes in the nexus between security and development, sustainable business and technology innovation, economic drivers of democratic and autocratic transitions, and cultural-historical drivers of social and political change.
Berlin is the founder of the strategy advisory CoStruct; Vice Chairman of the Board of fintech company :brij; an Advisory Board member at the think tank Europa Nova, and a Global Governance Fellow of the Robert Bosch Foundation. A frequent keynote speaker, she is noted for her ability to deconstruct complex issues, enliven debates, and inspire audiences. Her TEDx talk on the transatlantic democratic crisis has been described as "one of the most powerful and inspiring TED talks." She holds an M.Sc. in Political Economy of Emerging Markets from King's College London, a B.A. in International Relations from Tufts University, and speaks five languages.
